Last week, we had the huge privilege of interviewing Avinav Trigunait, the head of SEA Business at Searce Inc. In this interview, Avinav shares with us his thoughts on what digital transformation means and some of the misconceptions surrounding digital transformation.

Some of the excellent points brought up by Avinav include:
Regarding the concept of “Digital Transformation”
- Digital transformation is about people and not technology. Technology is an enabler and the focus of digital transformation should be to help people adapt to the new normal.
- Digital transformation is not a fixed target– it is instead a moving target, and a dynamic model.
- When it comes to business model, it is important not to consider just the consumer journey and the service journey, and also the employees’ experiences.
On the Importance of Digital Transformation Post COVID-19
- It is likely that companies will take digital transformation more seriously as it becomes more imperative for survival.
- At the same time, companies are likely to put more thought into their their Business Continuity Plans (BCPs)
- The human element is critical in digital transformation– companies can introspect more during this crisis.
At the end of the interview, Avinav also pointed out that companies should not be treating digital transformation as a public relations exercise, and instead to involve more than just the IT department in the change management process.
